22/7 Barça carries out a Peace Tour for the peace in Israel and Palestina

Football Club Barcelona (FCB) is the first major football team that has hold out his hand to Israelis and Palestinians with the goal of being a bridge of dialogue, with two clinics (sports training) scheduled for the 3rd August in Palestine and for the 4th August in Israel.

Considered the most popular club in Israel, Palestine and the Middle East, this initiative is a proof that football is able to establish approaches between countries and peoples rather than politics, as the agreement contributes to create the necessary confidence between both sides to reopen peace negotiations.

The project has been sponsored by the Israeli President Shimon Peres (Nobel Peace Prize), and has been supported by the Israel Government and the National Palestinian Authority, which both have joined efforts so that Israeli and Palestinian children could participate into this initiative.

Barça, with all its stars, will be in Palestine on the 3rd August. First, they will visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and they will be received by the Palestinian authorities. Then, there will be a clinic with children in Dura, a town on the outskirts of Hebron.

On the 4th August morning, FCB players will visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem and they will be received by the Israeli authorities. In the afternoon, in Tel Aviv, another clinic will take place, this time with Israeli and Palestinian children, in addition to immigrants and disabled children.

All the incomes will be destined to promote the peace through sport values. In this direction, the Israeli Education Ministry will launch a program against racism called “I am the other” in order to develop it in all the schools of the country during the next course.
