16/6 Barcelona experiences contemporary art at MACBA
Saturdays at 7pm, ‘MACBA es viu’ (Experience MACBA) programme proposes a variety of cultural activities to show modern art from another perspective. This season, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) extends its schedule until 9 pm to present a special schedule of shows and exhibitions, which coexists with other permanent exhibitions.
The cultural schedules in the heart of Barcelona change each week. First Saturday of each month at MACBA there is always a surprise activities; second, musical performances; third, an experimental art; and fourth; a varied dance. Following this, Hotel Omm propose four special activities coming up in the next few weeks.
June 21. Exhibition ‘Mixed Media’. The work consists in a dialogue between two Swedish artists, Carl Palm and Sebastian Rozenberg, who debate and speculate about the meaning and interpretation we give to things from a sculptural object. This is a theoretical exposition that does not leave fiction and comedy, and has already been a success in Nordic lands. This activity will be in English with no simultaneous translation.
June 28. Performance ‘Dancing on white’. MACBA becomes a platform of visibility of future contemporary dance professionals. Students bring their point of view and innovative dance choreography.
July 5. Performance ‘No half measures’, a choreographic research on identity and individual thinking through a collective self-portrait, performed by members of Taiat Dansa.
July 12. Due to the annual holiday in Raval, a guided tour will take place into the exhibition ‘The intangible heritage. Rhearsing from the Collection’. From Hotel Omm, the luxurious hotel in Barcelona, we encourage you to discover one of the most charming neighbourhoods of the city.
