13/9 Barcelona without hurries 2: The city from the height

Do you need to breathe fresh air and get away from the city? Just six rail stops from Plaza Catalunya, located in a ten minute walk from the Hotel Omm, the mountains of Collserola provide you with a good dose of oxygen through several strolls through forest roads, wet and lush.

Vallvidrera has been in the twenties the favourite place for the bourgeoisie to spend the summer. Their roads lead to forests full of trees that provide a set of special lights and shadows and sometimes you can even see some harmless wild boars.

One of the most beautiful spots of the park of Collserola is the Budellera fountain, a little bit hidden by the vegetation and restored in 1988 following the original model. From the Torre de Collserola, by Norman Foster, we will set out on another longer walk towards the Sant Ramon fountain, a big building with a lot of water dropping and falling into a small pond.

Finally, you can not miss the magical Vallvidrera reservoir, a jewel of the nineteenth century with quiet water, bright by the sun in the middle of nature with a perfect area to make a picnic. And for heights lovers, Carretera de las Aguas offers a splendid aerial view of Barcelona through 9 km of a country road, ideal for jogging or riding a bike.
