29/8 ‘The barber of Seville’ at Liceu
‘The Barber of Seville’, the most famous comic opera of all time, comes to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona , from September 14th to 25th. The performance takes place in Seville in the late XVIII century and tells the story of grumpy old Bartolo to keep Rosina away from all suitors and marry him. It is the contrast of an archetype of the ancient world, Bartolo, against the modernity of a lover, Almaviva.

13/8 A taste of Spain, flamenco at the MEAM
The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) organizes for the summer a season of flamenco concerts, called ‘A taste of Spain’. The performance combines flamenco dance and music with the traditional Spanish savours (glass of wine, Manchego cheese and olives). The attendants will have the opportunity to experience the food and the sounds, while they can visit the permanent Art collection ‘Contemporary Art, 21th century’, which is exhibited at the museum.

Kooza, a Cirque do Soleil show, will take place every day in Port Aventura theme park during the summer. The agreement brings together two of the largest companies in the tourism and entertainment industry worldwide.
23/7 Gerald Van Der Kaap exhibition: Bangkok, Xiamen, Ámsterdam
An exhibition of recent works by Gerarld Van Der Kaap can be visited at La Virreina Centre de la Imatge (Image Centre). The photographer and cameraman shows its new collection, which is a result of several years living worldwide: Bangkok, Xiamen, Amsterdam and Cap de Creus.
21/7 A Japanese garden at Casa Asia
Since Wednesday 9th July you can visit the exhibition at Asia House in Barcelona: “A Japanese Garden: topographies of the Void”, by the artist Esther Pizarro. The Immaculate Modernist building at Sant Pau in Barcelona becomes a Japanese garden where everything has a symbolism.
