24/9 L’Hora del Jazz Festival
This September, the 24th edition of L’Hora del Jazz – Memorial Tete Montoliu festival takes place in Barcelona, organized by the Associació de Músics de Jazz i Música Moderna de Catalunya (AMJM-Jazz Musicians and Modern Catalan Music Association). Once a year, the festival showcases the best of Catalunya’s jazz talent. As every year, most of the concerts take place at Pl. de la Vila de Gràcia, in Gràcia district of Barcelona, where the festival was born.
22/9 El Born at night: tour and tapas
Wednesdays and Thursdays nights you can discover the beauty and the secrets of the old Born market, and also the archaeological site, unique in Europe, through three different tours. Three different glances over the Barcelona of year1700, with tasting (tapa and beer) in the gastronomic area of one of the most visited cultural centers in Barcelona.
19/9 Barcelona won the Mayors Challenge
The Mayors Challenge awards goes to Barcelona as an innovative city in its first edition in Europe. In the USA this is the second edition of Mayors Challenge but in Europe is the first. Barcelona won the first prize among 155 proposals submitted.
15/9 Discover the history of art through small-format works
Until January 5th you can visit the exhibition “Captive Beauty. Small treasures at the Prado Museum”. This is a selection of 135 small-format works by authors such as Hieronymus Bosch, Rubens, Goya or Fortuny, becoming the largest exhibition ever presented outside of the Madrid gallery using its collection. It is a big opportunity to see these paintings and sculptures in Barcelona as it contains the hidden details of each artist.
