15/9 Discover the history of art through small-format works
Until January 5th you can visit the exhibition “Captive Beauty. Small treasures at the Prado Museum”. This is a selection of 135 small-format works by authors such as Hieronymus Bosch, Rubens, Goya or Fortuny, becoming the largest exhibition ever presented outside of the Madrid gallery using its collection. It is a big opportunity to see these paintings and sculptures in Barcelona as it contains the hidden details of each artist.

10/9 Catalonia gets ready for its National Day
Every September 11th takes place the National Day of Catalonia, a celebration well-known as “la Diada”. 22/8 The OBC, at La Mercè festival
The Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (Barcelona and Catalonia National Symphony Orchestra – OBC) will participate in the Festival of Barcelona, La Mercè, with a concert where the most popular classical music repertoire will be played. The show will take place on September 22nd and 23rd at Avinguda de la Catedral, one of the most emblematic places in Barcelona’s Gothic Neighbourhood.
13/8 A taste of Spain, flamenco at the MEAM
The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) organizes for the summer a season of flamenco concerts, called ‘A taste of Spain’. The performance combines flamenco dance and music with the traditional Spanish savours (glass of wine, Manchego cheese and olives). The attendants will have the opportunity to experience the food and the sounds, while they can visit the permanent Art collection ‘Contemporary Art, 21th century’, which is exhibited at the museum.
