5/2 Hotel Omm embarks on its new Roca BCN project with the Roca brothers
In its tenth year, the Barcelona-based hotel introduces changes with the makeover of the Roca Moo and the opening of the Roca Bar, as a result of the enthusiasm and teamwork of the Hotel Omm and the Celler de Can Roca.
Barcelona, 5 February 2013. Ten years after its opening, with many success stories, journeys and friendships made, and a few prizes under its belt, the Omm has developed with the makeover of Roca Moo and its new Roca Bar. On the one hand, the hotel’s one Michelin star restaurant has reinvented itself by bringing the kitchen into the dining room. On the other hand, the lobby bar now bears the Roca hallmark with an innovative selection of street food and dishes to share that can be ordered at any time of the day.
The new Roca BCN project is the natural consequence of the close and friendly relationship between the Omm team and the Celler de Can Roca, following ten years of working alongside each other. Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca, gastronomic directors and advisors of the Moo restaurant from the outset, have taken on this project with the same enthusiasm and dedication that Rosa María Esteva, proprietor of the Omm, draws on in rising to the challenges of her hotel venture.
This contemporary and youthful hotel, located just next to Paseo de Gracia, a meeting point for locals and visitors alike, has once again demonstrated that it never sits on its laurels as a pioneer in innovative proposals that bring new life to the city.
The interior design of Roca BCN was undertaken by the team from Sandra Tarruella Interioristas, whilst the landscape gardener Ana Esteve conceived the Omm’s new birch tree garden. Mario Eskenazi’s studio devised the new graphic image and Josep Abril, who designed the Moo’s uniforms ten years ago, has returned to do the same for the staff of the Roca Bar. In addition, to mark its tenth anniversary, the Hotel Omm has renewed its digital identity, at the hands of the studio Esiete, with a new website and 2.0 channels.
